California Western Alumna Promoted

We are proud to announce that only five years out from her graduation, Claudia Ignacio has been promoted to Senior Associate at Hone Maxwell LLP, a firm specializing in International Tax and Business, International Counsel, and Tax Controversy. When Claudia was promoted earlier this month, the firm’s founding partner, Josh Maxwell, cited her “unwavering commitment..., [her] leadership and authoritative, client-first approach to tax law.” 

Claudia earned this promotion through dedication to her clients’ wellbeing and to her community, legal and otherwise. She has over 20 years of tax compliance experience and notes that “Growing up, I found peace in numbers. I love finding solutions to my clients’ tax problems.”

While at California Western, Claudia was the President of La Raza Law Student Association and now serves as treasurer for the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, director of its Public Benefit Fund Board, and chair of its Community Service committees. It should be no surprise that Claudia received the President’s Award from the organization in 2022. 

Claudia gives back to her community in numerous ways, including as a continuing mentor to students at California Western. Last year, her community service earned her the San Diego County Bar Association’s Service by a New Lawyer Award.
