CWSL Alumna Missy Medary Reappointed as Presiding Judge, Texas’s Fifth Administrative Judicial Region
SAN DIEGO (May 3, 2024) -- California Western School of Law is pleased to announce that the Honorable Missy Medary '89 was reappointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott as the presiding judge of the Fifth Administrative Judicial Region for a term of four years.
Missy is currently judge of the 347th District Court and has served as the presiding judge of the Fifth Administrative Judicial Region since 2015. She is the first woman to hold this position. Missy previously served as assistant district attorney in New Orleans, Louisiana; Harris County, Texas; and Nueces County, Texas. She then served as a Municipal Court Judge in Nueces County. Missy is a former Board member of the Corpus Christi Bar Association and former Vice President of the Coastal Bend Women Lawyers Association. She currently serves as a Board Member on the Texas Indigent Defense Commission and is a lifetime member of the Texas Bar Foundation.
