CWSL’s Cindy Bertrand is San Diego Business Journal’s Nonprofit CFO of the Year

SAN DIEGO (March 15, 2024) -- California Western School of Law (CWSL) is proud to announce that Cindy Bertrand has been named San Diego Business Journal’s Nonprofit CFO of the Year. 

Cindy was nominated for the award for helping CWSL to establish financially sustainable practices that allow the school to fulfill its mission and to modernize and expand its services. Her financial acumen provides the support and guidance that each department of the law school needs to mature and thrive, allowing the school to upgrade our technology, design a new website, increase student scholarships, and increase the number and quality of faculty. 

Prior to joining CWSL, Cindy was the Vice President of Finance of one of the largest charitable organizations in San Diego - the YMCA of San Diego County. She had the privilege of helping them grow revenues to over $200 million.

Cindy has served on several of San Diego’s nonprofit boards, audit committees, and finance committees. Currently, she is on the board of governors of The San Diego Foundation and the past Treasurer. She served 8 years on the board and the finance committee of San Diego 2-1-1.
