Roy J.D. Hall Jr. ’73 Appointed Administrative Law Judge in American Samoa

California Western School of Law alumnus Roy J.D. Hall Jr. ’73 has been appointed Administrative Law Judge for the Territory of American Samoa,
marking another milestone in a legal career that spans more than five decades in both
private and government practice.
Judge Hall recently shared news of his appointment and reflected on the support he
received during his time as a law student.
Coming to San Diego from American Samoa, Hall recalls meeting the late Dean Robert
Castetter whose support left a lasting impression.
"I credit Dean Castetter and the great California Western faculty with giving me the
opportunity to complete my legal education, pass the Hawaii State Bar Exam, and go
on to over 50 years of private and government practice of law," Hall said.
Hall also expressed his gratitude to the law school for the opportunities it provided
him and other Samoan graduates.
"I am forever indebted to California Western for giving me and the other Samoan law
graduates the opportunity to build successful legal careers in American Samoa," he
said.
California Western is proud to celebrate Hall's appointment and the impact he continues
to make through his distinguished legal career.
