With the holiday season upon us, we want to share some recent highlights with all of you.
Closer Look: Fall Student Presentations
Our students have completed the term, finishing things off strong with their community education
presentations. The locations of the presentations as well as the topics presented were varied but the common thread was the valuable information the students provided to the community members in attendance. From how to protect yourself from common consumer scams, to learning about what the requisites are to becoming a U.S. citizen, our students prepared for weeks to be able to deliver the content of their presentations accurately and in a digestible manner.
Giving Thanks
As the year comes to a close, we reflect and give thanks for our accomplishments. Together we have trained, guided, and mentored dozens of law students who will form the next generation of advocates for justice. We are proud of our volunteer attorneys who have shared critical, and in some cases, life altering legal insight with hundreds of community members who often have nowhere else to turn. We are proud of our partners who have continued to support us as we creatively collaborate to serve vulnerable residents of San Diego. And finally, we are proud of the leadership that our executive director, Dana Sisitsky, has provided to sustain the work of the Community Law Project, managing our small (but mighty!) program in a world where the need for our assistance continues to grow each year.
