California Western Community Law Project Secures $5K Grant from City of Solana Beach
SAN DIEGO (July 12, 2024) – For the second year in a row, California Western School of Law (CWSL)’s Community Law Project (CLP) has received a $5,000 grant from the City of Solana Beach, where CLP has hosted a pro bono legal services clinic for the last 9 years.
The grant will go directly to support legal services and community legal education in Solana Beach, providing CWSL students the opportunity to work directly with low-income and vulnerable individuals in that community in need of legal assistance and information. Through their participation in CLP, students work under a supervising attorney and with volunteer attorneys who provide training in a variety of legal areas, including housing, family, employment, and immigration law.
The grant was awarded by the Solana Beach City Council on June 26. The CLP clinic is located at St. Leo Mission Church (936 Genevieve St. Solana Beach, CA 92075) and it is held once a month in the evenings.
