SAN DIEGO (April 14, 2025) – Each year at the annual Barristers Ball, the Student Bar Association (SBA) at California Western School of Law (CWSL) recognizes faculty and staff who have made a lasting impact on their law school experience. Voted on by the student body, these awards reflect the deep appreciation for those who go above and beyond in and out of the classroom.

This year’s Student Bar Association Award recipients were:

• Favorite 1L Professor (tie): Emily Behzadi Cárdenas, Brenda Simon, and Shawn Fields
• Professor of the Year: Shawn Fields
• Best Lecturer: Jessica Fink
• Adjunct Professors of the Year: Iris Fugate and Mark Conover
• Staff Member of the Year: Jeff Chinn
