California Western Faculty Highlights – December 2024
SAN DIEGO (January 7, 2024) – Faculty at California Western School of Law (CWSL) are continuing to prolifically produce groundbreaking work and present it across the country and around the globe.
Here are some highlights of the faculty’s activities from the month of November:
Professor William Aceves has been appointed to serve as a co-chair for International Law Weekend 2025, which will be held at Fordham Law School. ILW 2025 is one of the largest international law conferences in the world.
Associate Professor of Law, Emily Behzadi Cárdenas
Professor Emily Behzadi Cárdenas’ upcoming book, Heritage Bound: Law, Legacy, and Landscape in Mexico, has been contracted by the Stanford University Press.
Professor Behzadi Cárdenas presented a chapter from her upcoming book, Heritage Bound: Law, Legacy, and Landscape in Mexico, “Distilling the Law of Tequila” at the Heritage and Human Rights Conference in Glasgow, Scotland.
Professor of Law, James Cooper
Professor James Cooper and co-author Kashyap Kompella’s book, A Short and Happy Guide to Artificial Intelligence for Lawyers, was reviewed in the Hindustan Times.
Professor Cooper and co-author Kashyap Kompella’s OpEd “Memo to the new czar of artificial intelligence: How to maintain U.S. leadership”, was published in the Los Angeles Daily News and 12 other publications.
Professor Ken Klein was quoted by Forbes Advisor in “Home Insurance Outlook 2025: Severe Weather, Building Costs Drive Up Premiums”.
Professor Michael Yu has announced that he’ll be teaching “California Community Property” for BARBRI in Winter 2025.
