Rising 3L Colleen Murphy Shares Her Story During Legal Aid Society of San Diego's 2026 You've Been Served Gala

Colleen Murphy, a rising 3L at California Western School of Law, was recognized at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego’s (LASSD) 2026 You’ve Been Served Gala, where her story was highlighted in a video about the organization’s mission.
Murphy began her involvement with LASSD during her 1L summer, serving as the Jane
Bishop Intern on the Consumer Team. The Jane Bishop Memorial Fund was established
by Jane’s daughter Rosemary Bishop, who was an LASSD attorney. The fund honors Jane
Bishop’s legacy as a community leader and provides paid summer internships to law
students committed to nonprofit service.
Following her internship, Murphy was invited to continue working with LASSD. During
this time, she also became a client when her son needed support with an Individualized
Education Program (IEP). Her ongoing commitment to public service led to her appointment
to the LASSD Board of Directors.
California Western School of Law is proud of Colleen’s ongoing impact through her
service and leadership.
