CWSL 3L Jasmin Divas Villeda Selected as a National Jurist Student of the Year

California Western School of Law (CWSL) congratulates 3L Jasmin Divas Villeda on her
selection as a National Jurist Student of the Year.
Jasmin Divas Villeda is a proud first-generation law student who earned this honor
through her leadership at CWSL and within the broader legal community. Villeda has
dedicated her time at CWSL to building programs, leading student organizations, and
providing opportunities while advocating for cultural understanding.
Villeda founded the Indigenous Peoples Law Student Association, the first of its kind
at CWSL, and currently serves as the president. Working with the faculty and staff,
she helped establish California Western’s first formal land acknowledgement, which
serves as a permanent statement of respect for Indigenous communities. She also serves
as vice president of the International Law Student Association.
Villeda competed in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition,
where her team earned honors for top oralist and best brief. She later co-founded
California Western’s first National Native American Law Students Association Moot
Court Team.
Villeda is a Diversity Fellow and legal intern at Wilson Turner Kosmo LLP and has
interned with both the San Diego Superior Court and the ABA Immigration Justice Project.
In recognition of her commitment to pro bono service, she was inducted into California
Western’s Pro Bono Honors Society.
