CWSL Student Wins Prestigious Trial Advocacy Scholarship from American Association for Justice
SAN DIEGO (June 17, 2024) -- California Western School of Law (CWSL) is pleased to announce that Luke Turner, a rising 3L, was awarded the Trial Advocacy Law Student Scholarship by The American Association for Justice (AAJ). This award is one of only four that AAJ distributes each year, and it is given to the applicant who best demonstrates a commitment to AAJ and its mission, a desire to represent victims, and interest and skill in trial advocacy.
AAJ hosts one of the most prestigious national trial advocacy competitions each year. After exceeding in interschool competitions and being awarded a Distinguished Advocate designation, Luke was accepted into the Trial “Bootcamp” class of CWSL’s Competitive Advocacy Program (CAP), where he flourished right away. Recognizing Luke’s talent and dedication, CAP Program Director Paul Parisi and coaches decided to send Luke to the AAJ competition the first semester he was eligible to be on a team.
Luke is also an active member of the Moot Court Honors Board (MCHB) and was recently appointed their CFO. As a leader in MCHB, he helps organize intra-school competitions and ensures traveling teams and coaches have the support needed to be successful in regional and national competitions.
