Dean Scott Panelist at Anti-Racism Dean’s Forum
This past weekend, CWSL President and Dean Sean Scott spoke at the Anti-Racism Dean’s Forum, hosted by The University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law, in collaboration with the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). The Forum was intended for law school deans from across the country “to discuss obstacles and opportunities to advance anti-racism goals at law schools.” The Dean’s attendance reflects her ongoing commitment to raising the academic profile of California Western School of Law and diversifying the legal field more broadly.
On Friday, January 26th, Dean Scott was a featured discussant on a panel entitled, “Anti-racism, Admissions, Development, and Scholarships,” responding to the increasingly hostility toward law schools’ efforts to redress systemic racial bias.
As President and Dean of California Western, one of the most diverse ABA-accredited law schools in the country, and as Co-President of The Society of American Law Teachers (SALT), Dean Scott is uniquely positioned to offer perspective and strategies to protect antiracist initiatives in the legal academy.
