CWSL Faculty at the AALS 2026 Annual Meeting

California Western School of Law (CWSL) faculty and staff will be representing the law school at the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) 2026 Annual Meeting: “Impact. Excellence. Resilience. The Enduring Contributions of Legal Education,” in New Orleans, Louisiana this week.  

Janelle Brown-Peters is participating in a panel discussion entitled, “Pre-Law Education and Admission to Law School.” 

Professor Shawn Fields is participating in panel discussions entitled, “Who Claims the Power to Police? Authority, Legitimacy, and the Re-Imagining of Public Safety” and “Immigration and Disability Law.”  

Professor Joshua Jones is serving as a commenter at a works-in-progress session. 

Professor Ken Klein is participating in panel discussions entitled, “Climate Change and The Homeowners Insurance Crises Unfolding Across the Country” and “Cultivating Resilience for Lawyers and Law Students During Crisis and Disaster.” 

Professor Kristen van de Biezenbos will be presenting a paper at the Natural Resources and Energy and Environmental Law works-in-progress session and serving as the section chair for Admiralty & Maritime and on the Executive Committee for Natural Resources & Energy.
