Janelle Brown-Peters
Assistant Director of Admissions Planning and Data
Biography
Janelle is the Assistant Director of Admissions Planning and Data. She is responsible for planning admissions events, overseeing the law student workers in admissions, processing application decisions, data analysis, traveling for recruitment events, and counseling on the admissions process to prospective and newly admitted students. She has been working in law school admissions since February of 2020. She was previously the Assistant Director of Admissions at the University of San Diego School of Law before joining California Western in October of 2022.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and Master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership at the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences. Through her Master’s research, she was able to help found Torero Urban Scholars, a prison to higher education pipeline for formerly incarcerated and justice-impacted students at the University of San Diego. She has served in the military and worked in hospitality roughly 13 years before transitioning into higher education in 2017 where she has had the opportunity to work at a few local higher education institutions.
