Biography
After law school, Emerita Professor Einesman's ambition to become a criminal defense lawyer brought her to San Diego, where she began her career as a trial attorney at Federal Defenders of San Diego, Inc. She then moved on to solo legal practice, handling complex civil litigation at the San Diego law firm of Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch, and visiting at the University of San Diego School of Law as a clinical professor.
Emerita Professor Einesman’s litigation experience led her to teaching courses in Criminal Procedure and Evidence. She also teaches the Mediation Clinic, which she created with Prof. Linda Morton. Students enrolled in this Clinic mediate actual cases in Small Claims Court and Juvenile Hall. The Mediation Clinic was recognized in 2012 with the Center for Civic Mediation’s Louis M. Brown Conflict Prevention Award,
Einesman's publications concentrate on issues in criminal procedure; including the constitutionality of student drug testing; the interaction of Miranda and culture as well as the constitutionality of grand jury subpoenas for blood. Additionally, she has written several articles about the Mediation Clinic she co-founded with Professor Linda Morton
Emerita Professor Einesman is a trained mediator who mediates disputes at various locations throughout San Diego.
