Financial Aid Important Dates
Although California Western offers admissions on a rolling basis, students should keep the following deadlines in mind if they plan on applying for financial aid.
Fall/Spring Semester
- January 1: Students may begin completing the 2024/2025 FAFSA application for Fall 2024 or Spring/Summer 2025 semesters
- April 2: Submit your 2024-2025 FAFSA to the federal processor by this date. Exception: new students admitted for the Fall 2024 semester after March 19, 2024, must submit their FAFSA within two weeks of their admission date, or it will be considered late.
- Mid-July: Financial Aid files should be complete, including; all aid is either accepted or declined; and all requested documents are received and processed by the Financial Aid Office.
- Late August: Fall semester financial aid is disbursed to student billing accounts. If a credit balance occurs (loan amounts exceed institutional charges), the Student Accounts office will release excess funds 1-2 business days prior to the first day of classes.
- Mid-December: Financial Aid files should be complete, including; all aid is either accepted or declined; and all requested documents are received and processed by the Financial Aid Office.
- Early January: Spring semster financial aid is disbursed to student billing accounts. If a credit balance occurs (loan amounts exceed institutional charges), the Student Accounts office will release excess funds 1-2 business days prior to the first day of classes.
Summer Semester
- Mid-April: Financial Aid files should be complete, including; all aid is either accepted or declined; and all requested documents are received and processed by the Financial Aid Office.
- Late April: Summer semster financial aid is disbursed to student billing accounts. If a credit balance occurs (loan amounts exceed institutional charges), the Student Accounts office will release excess funds 1-2 business days prior to the first day of classes. (Summer Study Abroad students will not receive aid until shortly before the start of their abroad program).
