John McCormick-Huhn

Biography

Professor John McCormick-Huhn teaches contracts and evidence. His interdisciplinary scholarship focuses on novel applications of cognitive psychology to election law and intellectual property law—two areas of law that have received less attention by legal scholars interested in the intersection of law and psychology. Professor McCormick-Huhn has been published in Temple Law Review, Nevada Law Journal, and several peer-reviewed psychology journals, including Cognition, Psychology and Aging, and Memory.

Before joining the faculty, Professor McCormick-Huhn practiced for several years as an appellate attorney at the firms Womble Bond Dickinson (formerly Lewis Roca) and Holland & Hart. He has appeared in post-judgment motion practice in Nevada state courts and appeals and writ petitions before the Nevada Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. After law school, he clerked at the Nevada Court of Appeals for Judge Bonnie A. Bulla.

Professor McCormick-Huhn earned his J.D. at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the law review. Prior to that, he obtained his Ph.D. in cognitive psychology at Penn State. While at Penn State, he was a recipient of the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
