Pro Bono and Public Service Programs

Through pro bono and public service programs, California Western offers students the chance to explore public service while providing valuable assistance to the San Diego community.

Students in the Pro Bono Program receive training while helping address the unmet legal needs of disadvantaged or historically excluded individuals. Through the Pro Bono Program students work with organizations serving individuals in San Diego in a variety of law fields. 

Along with training and professional and personal growth students who complete more than 50 hours of service through the program are inducted into the Pro Bono Honors Society. Inductees receive an official notation on their transcripts and will receive an award certificate.

After your first year of coursework, some California Western students decide to dedicate their time to public service agencies and organizations. Students who choose to participate in the Public Service Program receive training and mentorships while donating valuable legal services to critical government offices and agencies. 

California Western recognizes students for their public service work. Students who complete more than 50 hours of service through the program are inducted into the Public Service Honors Society. Inductees receive an official notation on their transcripts and will receive an award certificate.
